Enjoy a nice, stress-free day out exploring the picturesque Brooklyn property, taking the opportunity to put your Map and Compass skills into practice.
We'll be running morning and afternoon "heats", navigating your way around the property to a series of waypoints based on distance and bearing.
There will be some prizes on offer.
It might be an idea to attend the navigation workshop beforehand to brush up your knowledge (oops … might be too late).
Bring your favourite compass (if you have one), pencil and ruler (and probably eraser), and your sense of humour. We will have some equipment available, and will supply paper maps for the event.
Instructions for how to get to Brooklyn are attached.
We will be staying at Camp 1, arriving from Friday afternoon. The campfire on Saturday night will be an opportunity to brag/complain about how well you did. Camping fees $20/per person/per night
There's plenty of room for caravans/campers in Camp 1. You'll need to be self-sufficient for food/water/accommodation. Camp 1 has toilets, hot (usually) showers and a camp-kitchen.
