Sand driving

We will be staying at Noosa North Shore Big 4 in the campground. Phone 5447 1225 and tell them you are with the Landcruiser Club. Please note that you will be crossing the Noosa River on the Ferry to get to the campground. You will need a beach driving permit from  book.parks.qld.gov.au.

Depending on your plans after the weekend, you might need one day, two days or a week-long permit.

The weekend starts at 7.30am on Saturday morning when we meet under one of the shelters in the campground and discuss some of the theory. After that, we drive out to the beach for some driving exercises and a demonstration of the difference tyre pressures make in the sand. There will be a slalom and a snatch demonstration. You will need your recovery gear and a long-handled shovel. Please bring your recovery treads if you have any, as they may be useful. There will be a drive north on the beach to practice your driving and find a spot for lunch on the beach. 

The afternoon finishes a little early, so there should be time for a swim/fishing/sleep or whatever you like. 

Saturday night, we will book a table at the Bistro for those who would like to eat there.

Sunday morning, there will be a drive to see if we can go to Double island and possibly Rainbow beach – depending on beach conditions.
